Education, Social Science, and Humanities Division

The division of Fine and Performing Arts is the academic unit that administers the programs of study and the many gallery events, plays, musical performances and other shows performed regularly on campus. ECC is a center of fine and performing arts for the community.

In art, students can study both two and three dimensional studio art and graphic design. A wide variety of studio courses are offered regularly. In music, students can opt for choral or instrumental coursework, and have a variety of performance options. In theater and communications, students will find an active theater program where they may acquire hands on experience as well as programming in communications and mass communications.

The graphic design program prepares students for work as graphic artists and provides coursework in multimedia design.

In partnership with the Patrons of the Arts group, active through the ECC Foundation, the Fine and Performing Arts division is a regular contributor to arts education in the region.

The division also contributes to the wide variety of general education coursework available to satisfy degree requirements. The newest transfer degree, the Associate of Fine Arts, is available to students intending to transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts program in studio art.
