NUR 103 - Successful Transitions in Nursing

Hours: 4
This course is designed to initiate the transition of the LPN into the professional RN role. Emphasis is placed on utilization of the nursing process to plan delivery of quality patient-centered care, therapeutic communication, clinical reasoning, and verification of basic nursing skills, medication calculation, intravenous therapy, and asepsis. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for the LPN to RN Bridge program. This course is only valid for 2 years. Students must hold a Missouri Licensed Practical Nursing license that has not been disciplined in any state or be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam.

Prerequisite: Must place into MTH 110 Intermediate Algebra  or higher
