NUR 201 - Nursing of Adults & Children II Lecture Hours: 4.5 This course is designed for the student to apply previously learned knowledge and nursing skills while caring for adults and children across the life span with complex behavioral health and medical-surgical disease processes. Complex skills and concepts supported by scientific evidence are introduced as well as the integration of maternal-newborn nursing. The application of the nursing process is broadened to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient and family. Emphasis is placed on utilizing scientific evidence to make clinical judgement, reduction of risk potential, physiological adaptations, and health promotion and maintenance.
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of “C” in NUR 131 NUR 132 Corequisite: NUR 202 Pre/Co-curriculum requirements: Minimum grade of “C” in BIO 205 and one of the following: HST 101 , HST 102 , HST 103 , PSC 101 , PSC 102 . Fall semester, fourth semester.
