Associate of Arts - Liberal Studies Guided Pathway to Success
The Liberal Arts Pathway is designed to provide broad exploration of social sciences, natural sciences, humanities and the arts. Liberal studies course work builds foundational skills and knowledge applicable to success after academia. This pathway emphasizes institutional student learning outcomes by promoting critical thinking, communication, social responsibility, and personal and professional development. A liberal studies degree gives students an opportunity to explore a variety of future career paths including, but not limited to, management, communications, research and law.
Transfer Options: The liberal studies credits earned with this degree are generally accepted in transfer to four-year colleges and/or universities. Please note that transferring credit is decided by the bachelor degree granting institution. Students seeking to transfer are advised to contact the four-year institution(s) regarding the transferability of the credits and coursework offered through East Central College.
Extra-Curricular/Cocurricular Opportunities at ECC: East Central College offers a variety of opportunities for extra-curricular/cocurricular activities. Become involved through student organizations/clubs such as Student Government Association, ECC Student Media, Phi Theta Kappa, Rotaract, Gender & Sexualities Alliance, plus many more. Or commit to getting involved by attending athletic events, theatre or music performances, the film and lecture series, or many other community center activities such as the Month of Service or Earth Day.
