Healthcare Security - Certificate of Specialization

The Health Information Management (HIM) program at ECC and working in conjunction with the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program are proposing a Healthcare Security certificate of specialization, The HIM courses are stackable with the exception of adding one additional CIS course, CIS 123 - Intro to Security, for obtaining the Healthcare Security certificate. New courses will not be added or developed only current existing courses from the two programs are being realigned to highlight and showcase the Healthcare Security certificate of specialization,

Prerequisites/General Education: Students must have a “C” or better in coursework.

HIM and CIS departments will coordinate student enrollment and courses offered both semesters or bi-annually based upon student enrollment numbers. Both programs are fully online programs.
