ECC-Phelps Law Enforcement Guided Pathway
Track Narrative: The Law Enforcement program is offered at the East Central College Rolla North site located at 2303 North Bishop. The 1-year certificate program combines theory, experiential learning, and practical applications to prepare students for a career as a peace officer.
The purpose of the law enforcement program is designed to assist students to acquire the skills and knowledge essential to the role for a competent peace officer. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates receive a certificate of achievement and are qualified to sit for the Missouri Peace Officer Licensing Exam (MPOLE). Students may choose to pursue the Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement by completing additional general education courses on a full- or part-time basis prior to entering or after the completion of the law enforcement certificate program.
** Prerequisites/Admission Requirements: A selective admission process is utilized. Applicants must meet the minimum program admission requirements and must be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer in the state of Missouri. **Students must also place into ENG 101 or have successfully completed ENG 101 to be eligible for program admission.
Extra-Curricular/Cocurricular Opportunities at ECC: ECC offers a wide variety of clubs and co-curricular activities for all students.
**Once accepted into the Law Enforcement Program, students must maintain a “C” average and must pass all courses with a C or better each semester to successfully move onto the next semester / course.
