Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Associate of Applied Science
The Associate in Applied Science in HVAC/R degree prepares students to enter the workforce as an HVAC/R technician. In this two-year program students develop skills and learn about fabrication and joining techniques, basic refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, electrical fundamentals, HVAC/R controls, and design of HVAC/R systems. In addition to the technical training, students enrolled in the AAS degree take an additional (18) credit hours in non HVAC/R courses such as communications, math, and technical skills writing. Individuals considering a career of HVAC/R management are strongly encouraged to apply for this degree. In addition, students study and test for the EPA license.
Extra-Curricular/Cocurricular Opportunities at ECC: All HVAC/R students have an opportunity to participate in DECA ECC-DECA has competed regionally and nationally enjoying trips to Washington D. C., Orlando and New York.
