MTH 102 - Business Mathematics

Hours: 3


A course exploring the applications of mathematics and statistics to business and finance. Topics include, discounts, markups and markdowns, unit cost, earnings, income tax, organizing data with graphs and charts, measures of center and variation, present and future value using both simple and compound interest, depreciation, and inflation. Please note that this is intended as a terminal course; completion of this course would not qualify students for higher level mathematics.

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of “C” in MTH 094   or appropriate math placement score to enter MTH 108  or MTH 110 .
