AGR 220 - Fundamentals of Soil Science Hours: 5 This is an introductory course that addresses aspects of soil science such as soil structure and formation through lecture and lab instruction; physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil and how it affects plant growth and development; soil water, soil fertility, productivity, and testing. The course will also introduce soil management and concervation and the relationship between soil, agricultural and non-agricultural practices, and the effect of these variables on water quality and the environment. The class will consist of 3 hours of lecture and 4 hours of lab per week.
Lecture/Laboratory: 3 hours lecture, 4 contact hours lab Prerequisite: CHM 105 with a minimum grade of C or four semesters of high school Chemistry with a minimum grade of C.
