MU 1781 - Vocal Diction

This course will discuss the basic rules of pronunciation and articulation for the Italian and German languages. Students will receive an introduction to the study of basic phonetic pronunciations and interpretation of the symbols used in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). These will be studied through both spoken and written exercises. Students will use practical application of their knowledge of diction by signing appropriate selections in each language periodically throughout the semester.
