RC 1023 - Cardio-Pulmonary Anatomy & Physiolology *

An in-depth presentation of the cardiopulmonary system, its abnormalities, and corrective techniques as related to respiratory therapy. Included are the concepts of the cardiovascular system, ventilation, diffusion of pulmonary gases,, hemodynamic measurements, ventilation perfusion relationships, oxygen and carbon dioxide transport, acid base balance, and arterial blood gas analysis.

Prerequisite: Admission to the respiratory care program, RC 1003 - Introduction to Respiratory Care * , RC 1011 - Lab Practicum I * , EN 1223 - English Comp I , MT 1082 Applied Algebra and Trigonometry or higher level math course,
