Overview

EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE offers a wide range of programs within the area of liberal studies, which as a field of study, introduces students to many academic disciplines. All liberal studies programs consist of the 43-credit hour general education core required of all transfer degrees, plus the necessary electives or foundational courses within a student’s chosen area of emphasis.

The ECC Liberal Studies Meta-Major emphasizes effective writing and communication in various forms as essential components to developing critical-thinking skills. Liberal studies coursework gives students an opportunity to begin to explore a variety of future career paths. Students completing one of the associated programs will have a sound foundation for a number of transfer options.
