RC 2013 - Advanced Therapeutics * Hours: 3
Emphasis on the technical components of mechanical ventilators, their classification, principles of operation, attachments, and the flow/pressure/ volume curves generated by various ventilators, compliance, and resistance. An introduction to the management of patients receiving mechanical ventilation will be presented. A continuation of the Introduction to Mechanical Ventilation (Life Support Technology) course. In-depth study of ventilator management in critical care, long-term care, and the home environment utilizing case studies, and clinical problem based learning sessions.
