RC 2151 - Lab Practicum V * Hours: 1 Practice of basic respiratory therapy procedures as outlined in the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) entry level examination content outline. Including mechanical ventilation and advanced life support for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. Students practice advanced level respiratory care procedures, using state-of-the-art equipment, in the clinical laboratory under simulated patient situations. The student will address the three difficulty levels of learning, in the laboratory environment (Recall, Application, and Analysis).
Prerequisite: Admission to the respiratory care program, RC 1003 - Introduction to Respiratory Care * , RC 1011 - Lab Practicum I * , RC 1012 - Patient Assessment * , RC 1023 - Cardio-Pulmonary Anatomy & Physiolology * , RC 1033 - Respiratory Pharmacology * , RC 1044 - Basic Therapeutics * , RC 1021 - Lab Practicum II * , RC 1043 - Integrated Sciences * , RC 1031 - Lab Practicum III * , RC 1054 - Clinical Practicum I * , RC 2003 - Respiratory Pathophysiology * , RC 2013 - Advanced Therapeutics * , RC 2023 - Cardio-Pulmonary Testing * , RC 2033 - Clinical Practicum II * , RC 2112 - Specialty Practice * , RC 2041 - Lab Practicum IV * , completion of requirements for the AAS Degree at ECC.
